Newcastle Arts Council in partnership with Avalon Newcastle Commons and Bishops Newcastle is organizing an art fair to be held at Avalon Newcastle Commons on Saturday, July 23, 2022

Featuring a variety of local artists, delicious food, and live music!

Family Watercolor Night with Newcastle Arts Council at Lake Boren Park. Tuesday, July 12, 6:30pm – 8:00pm, at Lake Boren Park. Get together with neighbors and watercolor. Bring your own supplies or use the basic watercolor supplies provided. No instructor. Drop in. Bring your creativity! More info.

August

The Art of Zentangle – Make art and relax using simple tools led by a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT), Saturday, August 6, 11am. This is an online course. Registration required.

Storytelling Through Hula – Learn basic hula steps to tell stories through movement. Tuesday, August 16, 6pm. Main stage at Lake Boren Park. Drop in to attend. More info.

NAC's 5th Annual Art Exhibition at Newcastle Library during the month of September. Wednesday, August 31, 6-7:30pm Opening Night at Newcastle Library. Meet the artists! Drop in to attend.

Come see Newcastle Arts Council and Newcastle Library at Newcastle Days! Saturday, September 10 at Lake Boren Park. Create your own unique 4x4 canvas art at Newcastle Days, while supplies last. Your piece will hang at the library from October 1-14.

Kamishibai Performance – Japanese Street Theater and Storytelling. Saturday, September 24, 2pm - Newcastle Library - First come, first seated.

October

Black Magic Zentangle – Zentangle with black paper, white pen, and a Halloween theme! Saturday, September 24, 2pm at the Newcastle Library. First come, first seated.

November

Cellist, Gretchen Yanover, musical performance. Saturday, November 5, 11am. Online – registration required.

Art of Furoshiki – Traditional Japanese Cloth Folding. Saturday, November 5, 2pm at the Newcastle Library. Online – registration required.

Introduction to Acrylics. Create a simple painting and learn basic skills. Saturday, November 19, 3pm at the Newcastle Library. Registration required.

December

Card making with Newcastle Arts Council – Use your creativity to create cool cards. Supplies provided. Saturday, December 3, 10:30am  at the Newcastle Library. Drop in to attend.

Dickens Carolers Concert – Bring friends and family to hear this A Capella quartet sing Holiday classics. Saturday, December 17, 2pm at the Newcastle Library. First come, first seated.
