Utility Box Public Art
Attention Artists! Newcastle Art Council and the City of Newcastle (Contracting Parties) are seeking design proposals from local artists for a vinyl graphic wrap on a dual utility control box grouping in Newcastle. Designs should relate to the culture, history, and/or landscape of specific location and the surrounding area where this dual utility control box grouping is located (more specific information is outlined below). This project is intended to transform two utility control box cabinets into a visually appealing, enjoyable addition to the public right of way.

Newcastle Arts Council Day at MOD Pizza – Newcastle, Sunday, May 21st
On May 21st, Newcastle Arts Council will be holding a fundraiser at MOD Pizza in Newcastle so mark your calendars. If you present the flier provided with this newsletter when you place an order at MOD Pizza in Newcastle on May 21st, 20% of your purchase will go to support Newcastle Arts Council. Thanks in advance for helping out our organization and supporting a local Newcastle business.

Rock Painting with Newcastle Arts Council – Saturday, June 3, 10:30am, Lake Boren Park at the picnic shelter by the tennis courts, 13058 SE 84th Way, Newcastle, WA 98056. Design on a rock to keep, give away, or hide for someone else to enjoy. No instructor, so bring your creativity! Paint supplies and rocks will be available, while supplies last.

Monthly art programs
As we look toward 2023 Newcastle Arts Council plans to continue our partnership with Newcastle Library and KCLS to provide a monthly art program via Zoom and in person. For this process we could use your assistance. Do you have a great idea for a program? If so, we want to hear about it. Do you have a special artistic talent you would like to share with the community? If so, we would love to showcase your talents during an on-line course or lesson taught by you for the community. For suggestions or comments please let us know by e-mail.
Newcastle Arts Council Monthly Meeting, February 6th, 7:00pm-9:00pm - Our next board meeting is on Monday, February 6, 2023. If you are interested in joining please send a note to newcastlewaarts@gmail.com and we will send you information about joining the meeting. The board normally meets on the first Monday of each month. We are continuing to look for others to be actively involved in the organization.
Newcastle Arts Council Annual and Monthly Meeting, March 6th, 7:00pm-9:00pm - In March Newcastle Arts Council will be holding our 2023 Annual Meeting so plan to celebrate with us the successes of 2022 and learn about what we have planned for 2023. Our annual meeting will be from 7:00pm-8:00pm with our monthly business meeting to follow from 8:00pm-9:00pm.
